I am a member of the group Surfers United. We maintained a website called The Jianna Report.com. It was a site dedicated to the eradication of cyberbullies in particular.

I admit that we were considered controversial. We collected the PI of cyberbullies, stalkers, hackers, teen porn watchers and the like. We researched the membership and put the material in a database. Needless to say we were not popular. A group of people led by some we had gathered information on set out to get our site taken down. Last evening they succeeded. Lies were told that we were harassing and stalking minors which were not the truth. The primary database was not maintained on the Jianna Report site. We did that deliberately knowing the hackers would come after it. Only a very small portion was there. Someone reported the presence of the database entries to JustHost.

JustHost went about things in an extremely sneaky way. Someone named Oliver contacted one of the admins demanding to know what the thread of database entries was. When the admin explained that what it was and that the main database was not maintained there. Supposedly Surfers United was in violation of JustHost's TOS but we did not locate any regulations that concurred with that. Oliver demanded to see the main database. It is maintained on a privately owned website by someone who allows people on the site by invitation only. Considering that the request was unreasonable the admin refused it. No link to the database was on the Jianna Report and its contents were none of JustHost's business. The database was for the purpose of victims of cyber abuse in all its forms to locate perpetrators and bring them to justice civilly or criminally.

It is not illegal to maintain a private database and the maintainer under federal law can maintain the information they wish. Nothing was maintained there that was against the law. It turns out that JustHost was threatened with legal action. Rather than standing up for a paying client and their rights of free speech, JustHost caved in to the demands of bullies. It was an act of abject cowardice and the sign of a hosting service that no one should utilize.

Whose to say that if someone doesn't like another site and its contents that they won't capitulate again and suspend the account? I give JustHost a zero rating and I wouldn't advise anyone to sign up for hosting with them. Cowardice should never be rewarded.

RE: Do not recommend Just Host for Reseller Accounts

Funny but when I was looking for a web hosting company to go with in December 2009 Just Host pretty much came out on top.

They seem to have great features, the price was comparable with the rest and most importantly the reviews were mainly all positive. Whereas when you now look at reviews they tell a completely different story.

My biggest gripe with them is with the following:

1. Monitoring - my server was down from approx 1am and there was no notification or anything. I had to call them in the morning. Overall my sites were down for over 30 hours.

2. Miscommunication - On the phone they were in the "middle of a maintenance routine", by e-mail the situation was "temporary" and was going to be up soon, by the portal - the server had crashed. They also informed me that they were doing a restore. What they didn't tell me was that they had no back-up to restore from - I had to figure that out on my own - i.e. no restoration of service and phoning up.

3. Telephone Support - it's crap...can't say anything else. Their website states "real people"...they seemed far from real or interested.

If I knew then what I knew now...I pretty much wouldn't have signed up.

Don't get me started on Submission Hub - over three weeks and no reply yet!

I dont even want to give this company 1 point. They stole 40 USD from my credit card even though I had one year free and I had not accepten them to charge my card. I have to make a recharge with my bank because this company is sneaky.

In spite of the fact that for justhost.com very attractive tariffs, we have been forced to leave, since it carries on itself more than dishonourably (steals money).

I have been with just host for over 18 months now on a 6 monthly term, and just switched to 3 years as i have been so impressed. Just £2.95/month and I’m getting some unbelievable support from their techs not only for my hosting but for help with my actually website. Perfect uptime so far and fast loading I can’t ask for anything more.

This message is to be read by all and specially by Brooke Bryan and Nick Baker (Co-founders of JustHost)

As a customer of JustHost since December 2008 I've the following to comment:

1 - I've transferred my website registered with register.com to JustHost and bought several add ons, including Priority Support, Domain Privacy and Search Engine Submission by Submission Hub.

2- Since December 2008 I've trying to sort out the services I paid for and they did not comply with. I, even called Chicago from London-U to speak with the manager. Was put on hold, and ask to call back in one hour or so. By my third attempt, finally I spoke with someone called Rizza, Risa (not sure how to spell), one of the administrative managers that promised the problem would be resolved.

3- It still going on.

4- JustHost is patronizing me, treating me with no respect, not being professional or courteous and taking money for services that are not being provided. Including the one I paid for Priority Support.

It is making me ill, stressful, wasting my time and soon I'm going to have a nervous breakdown due to this form of abuse and disregard to my person as customer and human being. The waiting game, transfer of tickets from one department to another and unsolved situation during months and months is putting an enormous pressure on me and affecting my well being and productivity.

5- My apologies to all for posting it all over the internet, but after 8 months of this soap opera drama I say: enough is enough. Believe, for months I've been trying to sort out this issue and have been played about by staff. JustHost website if full of false advertising, quick to take your money and without delivering the promised services.

Brooke Bryan and Nick Baker my ID in JustHost is amandai1. Take a look in Billing Events and Logs, and also open tickets not answered for days, even when on high priority or 911.
