Some good features, uptime is pretty terrible however.
Review by Edison Harvard, May 3, 2009
Service can be very personally rude and sarchastic.
They also lie if they get a personal gripe on with you.
Childish at the best of times and in truth, not really where you’d go for professional arena.
Cheap, but you get what you pay for.
Used to be good. Now, seeems to be racist.

I find the support to be really good and very quick response. I have a reseller package and had had no complaints. Yes it is very good value for money and sometime you do get what you pay for, but I can live with occasional downtime for the value of the reseller package. Overall, excellent vlaue for money.

Dreadful company. My advice is to avoid these people completely. I have been unfortunate enough to have had to deal with their customer service department. Not a pleasant experience.

Review by Patrick Nelson, September 16, 2009
I think some of the reviews here are extreme.
We use Heart Internet currently although we’re planning to change at the end of the year. Our reasons?
1. Really, really poor technical support; by that, I don’t mean that they don’t know what they’re doing – I think that, technically, the Heart team are really competent. What I mean is that the support side itself is generally sloppy. For example, on more than one occasion, I’ve had to implore support staff responding to support tickets to actually READ the ticket
2. Set-up; tricky to use, certain things are hard but Heart have just recently changed their set up again making it difficult now for us to set up development domains as sub-domains which is what we used to do for all our clients websites which were in development
3. Speed; we develop a lot of CMS websites and quite frankly, the Heart servers are much slower than many others that we’ve used in the past
4. Attitude; just recently when FTP access disappeared for several hours, their Customer Service Manager told us that this was a “rare” problem. I pointed out that we feel as though they have problems nearly every day – there’s always something that isn’t working. She told me I was mistaken.
So, here you go. Want to know if Heart are any good? Check it out for yourselves. Monitor their system status page for a month and make a note how many days of that month you see that they have problems of one sort or another and ask yourself if you consider that to be acceptable from a web host.
Here’s the link to their system status page:

I have never had any issues with downtime or bad support, i dont work for Heart either but i do work for another ISP/hosting provider. I have had no problems and would recommend anybody to go with Heart, if anyone would like confirmation i can be emailed peter@farehamgoods.co.uk
Some people when they contact our support dont like the answers we give, sometimes its hard to accept the issue is with the end user not the host or ISP.

for a shared hosting environment uptime is average. Speed is a little slow, especially when SQL and php are involved, but improving.
Support however does tend to be superb on matters which they identify as being up to them. if however, it is even slightly outside what they deem their responsibility then do not expect support.

Poorly designed system
Review by Bob, October 17, 2009
On paper the heart offering looks unbeatable for value and functionality. The uptime is bad, the mail is the worst – it is down again as i type.
While the ticket system is fine when you have minor queries, it is totally unsuitalbe for major issues like mail particuarly as i offer hosting to my clients. It needs to be reliable – it isn’t. i have accpeted i am going to have to pay significantly more to get the level of service i expect.
If you are a business professional heart is not for you.

Pure and Simple – AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!
Join Heart, and you’ll deeply regret it within a month.
Read what other have said, especially regarding them
holding “domains hostage” – this is TRUE! I speak from past experiance.
Review by Paul Ryan, October 26, 2009
I would strongly advise people to look elsewhere. Customer service is okay before you sign-up. After its appauling.
They have a poor “tickets system” and no real telephone line for support. Even if you do get any help its limited to “cut and paste” replies from someones saved text file. They are Amateur and totally unaware of their customers needs and requirements in a service.
You may save yourself a few quid, but its really not worth the hassle you will receive from these people. AVOID AVOID AVOID at all costs. Check out some other comments floating around, you’ll see they love to threaten those who cancel their services. A really nasty company that leaves one with a very bitter taste.

AVOID AVOID AVOID
A truly nasty and sometimes sarcastic company that loves to take your money, and then make threats to take even more from their deby recovery services. Watch out for their non-cancellation policies!
You do make some initial savings (about £30 per annum), this offset against the hassle you have even getting decent support.
Review by Mark Bentham, December 29, 2009
Diabolic customer service. Very cheap, and you get what you pay for – unreliabilitlity. Cancel any CARDS you have registered with them, as they will take money when they please. Getting it back can prove difficult and time consuming! Their lack of genuine customer support numbers is a dead give away.
Do yourself a favour, and go eleshwere – you will regret every getting involved with these people.

After some bad experiences with another host I had a punt with Heart and everything has gone smoothly so far. I haven’t had to contact them yet but I see that as a good thing. My only gripe is I wish they did vps as well
Review by Travel Affiliate, February 12, 2010
I use them for my domains and like the control panel and features. . . Way better than 1&1 where I first started buying domains. Don’t use them for hosting though as I heart cpanel hosting.
