Fasthost used to be great… But they got sloppy and now theyre really bad! They’re also in the process of moving all their phone support to eastern europe to cut costs! The phone support was their saving grace up until they dropped that bombshell.
Here’s a list of some of the problems that ive come across over the years:
- security breaches resulting in days spent changing passwords.
- regular errors with emails servers (i had no emails all weekend)
- site down time which resulted in a loss in a search engine rankings (googlebot missed a 301)
- slow handling of wordpress CMS.
- no support for wordpress 404 pages (bad requests result in html code being displayed instead of the 404)
- no isapi support on windows servers

I have never known a company so pathetic as Fasthosts. For a comnpany called FASThosts they have the slowest homepage I have ever visited, their email system is a shambles, and if you ever manage to get through to customer services they are rude and arrogant. I am transfering my websites to another company as soon as I can, and I urge anyone thinking about using fasthosts to stay well away. It is shocking how any company as badly managed as this can still exist. They don’t even deserve one star.

I was a FastHosts for months, until I realized they were
taking a lot of extra money out of my bank account for no reason!!
They threatened and blackmailed me, threatening to cancel my Hosting if I reported the theft and made a big deal out of it.

So far, FASTHOSTS have taken an extra £1600 out of my bank account for no reason!!

I had been using Fasthosts for some 6 months, using their reseller account and had been reasonably pleased, however upon my recommendation I transferred a major client to Fasthosts. Well what a disaster, they have changed their reseller control panel and basically rolled out a system that doesn’t work. We had intended moving some live sites from my Fasthosts account to theirs, a simple job you would think, well no absolute disaster 4 days in and sites still not live. This is a totally unaccepable situation and this needs to to highlighted. I would not normally go on these review sites but as I’m in my clients office and unable to sort the problems as I’m waitng for Fasthosts support to do something I will spend the time telling everyone to be VERY VERY careful of using this Company for any serious websites. The Company I am a consultant to, deal with large PLC’s and are the main CDM contractors on the Olympic Swimming Pool, they are not used to dealing with ‘noddy’ Companies like Fasthosts! I have now been told in no uncertain terms to find another, this time reliable hosting Company

The Fatshosts support is simply appalling. Their e-mail answers are so brief as to be useless, they clearly do not read the previous communicatiosn, show little expertise with their own systems and none with Frontline, and can be rude in their replies.
I have been trying to get a subdomain/subweb published for the last six months, and it still does not work and now I cannot even publish my main domain.
I am going to move to another ISP ASAP.

I went to Fasthosts as they were recommended. At first they were great but unless you are a reseller, the support team is now in the Philippines. I love the Philippines, I love the people when we go there (quite often) but the staff do tend to be very snotty and, every now and then, quite helpful. No major issues of technology, although uploading on weekends can be a pain as the servers cut out.

We are a web design company and have been with Fasthosts for 7 years as a reseller and dedicated hosting customer.
Today we are leaving and cancelling our accounts due to terrible support – currently over 4 days without a reply on a dedicated server failure.
The billing is underhand and unethical. Telephone support is just used as a front to delay actual action by an engineer.
No hosting company is perfect but we would strongly recommend avaoiding this one.
